MAP kinase-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 is anenzyme that in humans is encoded by theMKNK2gene.[5][6]

Interactions

[edit]

MNK2 has been shown tointeract withMAPK1[7][8] andEukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma.[7]

MNK2 has been identified as a therapeutic target fordiabetes. Specifically, blocking MNK2 interaction with eIF4G has been shown to boost protein synthesis and promotebeta cell regeneration.[9]
