Lysergic acidtert-butylamide (LAtB), also known asN-tert-butyllysergamide (NtB-LA), is apsychedelic drug of thelysergamide family related tolysergic acid diethylamide (LSD).[1][2][3] It was described in an earlypatent as reportedly beingpsychoactive andhallucinogenic and as producinghypothermia and "anti-hypothalamic" effects presumably in animals.[2] The drug shows activity atserotonin receptors, but is a very low-potencyagonist of theserotonin5-HT2A receptor.[1] Thechemical synthesis of LAtB has been described[2] andanalytical characterization has been described.[3] It was first described in the literature in a patent by Richard P. Pioch atEli Lilly and Company in 1961 (filed in 1956).[2] The drug'spharmacology was later studied byDavid E. Nichols and colleagues.[1]
