Lyna Khoudri (French:[linakudʁi];Arabic:لينا خضري; born 3 October 1992) is an Algerian and French actress.[2] In 2017, she won theOrizzonti Award for Best Actress at the74th Venice International Film Festival forThe Blessed. In 2020, she won theCésar Award for Most Promising Actress for her performance inPapicha. In 2021, she portrayed a student activist inWes Anderson'sThe French Dispatch. In 2023, Khoudri portrayedConstance Bonacieux inThe Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan andThe Three Musketeers: Milady. Khoudri has been a brand ambassador for the French fashion houseChanel since 2022.
Khoudri was born in 1992 inAlgiers, Algeria,[3] to a journalist father and a violinist mother.[4] When Khoudri was 2 years old,[5] the family moved toAubervilliers, France, as exiles following death threats due to the danger of her father's profession during theAlgerian Civil War.[6]
At the age of 18, Khoudri acquiredFrench citizenship.[7][8]
Khoudri received her professional training atThéâtre national de la Colline in Paris.[9]
Khoudri speaks French, Arabic and English.[7][10]
In 2014, Khoudri had her first acting role in the French television seriesJosephine, Guardian Angel.[11]
In 2017, she won theOrizzonti Award for Best Actress at the74th Venice International Film Festival for her performance inSofia Djama's filmThe Blessed.[12][13]
In 2019, she played Louna in six episodes of theCanal+ miniseriesSavages, directed byRebecca Zlotowski.[14] That year, she also played Nedjma inMounia Meddour's filmPapicha, about a young Algerian woman who uses fashion as cultural resistance during the Algerian Civil War.[15] Khoudri hadMarion Cotillard as her Godmother for theCésar Awards Revelations dinner in January 2020.[16][17] For her role inPapicha, she won theCésar Award for Most Promising Actress in February 2020.[17]
In 2021, Khoudri played Juliette, a student activist and the girlfriend ofTimothée Chalamet's character inWes Anderson'sThe French Dispatch.[5] Their storyline centers on a student riot.[18] Khoudri attended the film's premiere at the2021 Cannes Film Festival where it competed for thePalme d'Or.[19]
In 2022, Khoudri played Samia inCédric Jimenez'sNovember, for which she was nominated for theCésar Award for Best Supporting Actress.[20]
In 2023, Khoudri starred in the monologuePerdre son sac, written and directed by Pascal Rambert at theThéâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris.[21] She also portrayedConstance Bonacieux, the love interest ofD'Artagnan (portrayed byFrançois Civil) in two French film adaptations ofAlexandre Dumas' 1844 novelThe Three Musketeers directed byMartin Bourboulon;The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan andThe Three Musketeers: Milady.[22] The same year, she co-starred with Civil again inRomain Cogitore's romantic thrillerA Place to Fight For (Une zone à défendre), the first French original film fromDisney+, in which she played an environmental activist who falls in love with Civil's character, an undercover police officer.[23]
In 2024, Khoudri starred inBruno Dumont's sci-fi filmThe Empire,[24] and in the Italian-Belgian-American drama filmHow Kids Roll, the directorial debut of Italian-American director Loris Lai,[25] set in theGaza Strip amidst theIsraeli–Palestinian conflict during theSecond Intifada in 2003,[26]
In June 2023, it was announced that Khoudri will collaborate again withThe Three Musketeers director Martin Bourboulon in a television series forApple TV+ titledCarême, about the world's first celebrity chef,Marie-Antoine Carême, starringBenjamin Voisin in the title role and Khoudri as Henriette, Carême's lover.[27]
In 2024, Khoudri starred in the short filmAn Urban Allegory, co-directed byAlice Rohrwacher andJR.[28]
In April 2024, it was announced that Khoudri will voice the female lead in the French-Belgian animated filmIn Waves, the feature directorial debut of Phuong Mai Nguyen.[29]
In May 2024, Khoudri joined Martin Bourboulon's Afghanistan evacuation dramaIn The Hell of Kabul: 13 Days, 13 Nights.[30]

Khoudri has been a brand ambassador for the French fashion houseChanel since 2022, after having collaborated with the brand since 2020, following their first collaboration for the2020 César Awards Revelations.[34] Khoudri made her catwalk debut during Chanel 2022/23 Cruise show inMonte Carlo, Monaco on 5 May 2022.[34][35]
