Lyle Joseph Mouton (born May 13, 1969) is an American former professionalbaseball player who playedoutfield in the Major Leagues from 1995 to 2001. He also played part of 1998 in Japan for theYakult Swallows.

Mouton attendedSt. Thomas More School in Lafayette.

College

Lyle originally entered school at LSU on a basketball scholarship[1] and played as a guard. After two seasons, he focused solely on baseball, playing outfield for theLSU Tigers from 1989 to 1991. He led the Tigers to three straightCollege World Series tournaments, with the team winning the championship in 1991. He also led them to back-to-backSEC championships, 1990–91. He was on the 1990 All-Tournament College World Series team as adesignated hitter, then again for the 1991 tournament as an outfielder. In 1990, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theBrewster Whitecaps of theCape Cod Baseball League and was named a league all-star.[2][3]
