Luigi Cherubini (born 15 January 2004) is an Italian professionalfootballer who plays as awinger forSerie B clubSampdoria, on loan fromRoma.
Cherubini began playing football withGuidonia before moving toRoma at 9, and he finished all of his development there except for the 2017–18 season where he played for crosstown rivalsLazio.[1] On 18 July 2021, he signed his first professional contract with Roma.[2] In October 2022, he started training with the senior team for the first time.[3] He was captain of theRoma Primavera side and helped them win theSupercoppa Primavera,Coppa Italia Primavera, and U17 Championship.[4] He made his senior debut with Roma as a substitute in a 2–0UEFA Europa League win overSparta Prague on 26 October 2023.[5]
On 27 July 2024, Cherubini was loaned toCarrarese.[6]
On 21 August 2025, Cherubini moved on loan toSampdoria inSerie B.[7]
Cherubini is a youth international for Italy. He played for theItaly U18s in August 2021 for a set of friendlies.[8]
Cherubini is a versatile player who prefers to play as awinger, but can fill out any offensive position behind thestriker. He is strong, fast and has a great eye for goals. He is adaptable, and is an effective dribbler.[9]
