Luigi Agnolin (21 March 1943 – 29 September 2018) was an Italian football referee. He was mostly known for supervising four matches in theFIFA World Cup, three in1986[1] and one in1990.[2] He also refereed the1988 European Cup Final betweenPSV Eindhoven andS.L. Benfica.[3]
In addition to his two World Cup tournaments, Agnolin also served as a referee in qualifiers for the World Cups of1982,[4]1986,[5] and1990.[6] He officiated in qualifying forEuro 1984.[7] Agnolin is known to have worked as aFIFA referee during the period from 1980[8] to 1990.[2]
Agnolin was also afutsal referee, officiating at the1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship in the Netherlands.[9]
In 2012, he was inducted into theItalian Football Hall of Fame.[10]
