Career

[edit]

Early years

[edit]

Beccari began learning to skate in 2009.[1] In 2014 and 2015, she competed in noviceice dancing with Pietro Turbiglio. In 2016, she was off the ice for several months due to an injury.[2]

Competing in the advanced novice ladies' category, Beccari became the Italian national champion in March 2017 and took silver at the Rooster Cup in April, coached byEdoardo De Bernardis.[3]

2017–18 season

[edit]

Beccari became age-eligible for junior international events and made herISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) debut in September, placing seventh inMinsk, Belarus. After winning the national junior title, she was selected to represent Italy at the2018 World Junior Championships inSofia, Bulgaria; she finished sixteenth overall after placing twenty-third in the short program and eleventh in the free skate. During the season, she was coached byEdoardo De Bernardis and Claudia Masoero inTurin.[4]

2018–19 season

[edit]
Beccari at the2019 World Junior Championships

Beccari decided to train underFranca Bianconi inBergamo.[1] Starting her season on the JGP series, she placed seventh inKaunas, Lithuania, and fifteenth inLjubljana, Slovenia. She then won three junior international medals – bronze at theGolden Bear of Zagreb, gold at theWarsaw Cup, and gold at theDenkova-Staviski Cup. Although too young for international senior-level events, she competed in the senior category at the Italian Championships in December. Ranked first in the short program and fourth in the free skate, she was awarded the silver medal.[5]

2019–20 season

[edit]

In her final appearance on theJunior Grand Prix, Beccari placed sixteenth at the2021 JGP Poland. Making her senior debut on theChallenger series, she competed three times at2019 CS Lombardia Trophy,2019 CS Warsaw Cup, and2019 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb. Beccari was fourth at the Italian championships and competed at several other minor internationals.[5]

2020–21 season

[edit]

In an international season greatly limited by the onset of theCOVID-19 pandemic, Beccari was the Italian national bronze medalist and won theEgna Trophy.[5]

2021–22 season

[edit]

Beccari withdrew from the2021 CS Lombardia Trophy. Following the cancellation of the2021 Cup of China, Italy unexpectedly became the host of the third event in theGrand Prix, the2021 Gran Premio d'Italia.[6] Beccari was one of two Italian women assigned to compete at the home Grand Prix (along withLara Naki Gutmann), making her Grand Prix debut with a twelfth-place finish.[7] She was sixth at the Italian championships.[5]

2022–23 season

[edit]

In the summer of 2022, Beccari had the opportunity to switch topair skating after reigning Italian national championNicole Della Monica decided to retire following theBeijing Olympics, leaving her partnerMatteo Guarise looking for a new partner to continue onward to the2026 Winter Olympics inMilan andCortina d'Ampezzo.[8] Beccari would later say that she had previously tried out in pairs, but due to an injury had focused on singles skating. However, she had reconsidered after the prior season, citing that "I had a lot of physical issues that affected me on the ice and in all my competitions. I was feeling low, both physically and mentally. I instantly decided that I needed a drastic change"[9]

Beccari/Guarise made their international debut at the2022 CS Warsaw Cup, finishing in fourth place. They won the bronze medal at their first Italian championships, and were seventh at the2023 European Championships.[10]

2023–24 season

[edit]
Beccari and Guarise during their free skate at the2024 World Championships

Beccari/Guarise began the season with a fourth-place finish at the2023 CS Lombardia Trophy.[10] At their secondChallenger event, the2023 CS Nebelhorn Trophy, they won the silver medal, their first international podium together. They set new personal bests in both the free skate and total score.[11] They were invited to make theirGrand Prix debut at the2023 Skate Canada International, where they won the bronze medal, despite each making a jump error in the free skate. Beccari remarked that she was "really happy" about her "first important medal," though "about the skate, we are not that happy." Guarise deemed it a "learning experience."[12] They went on to win the silver medal at the2023 NHK Trophy.[13] Beccari/Guarise finished the Grand Prix with the same placements as fellow Italian teamGhilardi/Ambrosini and HungariansPavlova/Sviatchenko, but lost the tiebreaker of cumulative scores, and thus finished as second alternates to theGrand Prix Final.[14] Guarise acknowledged this as disappointing, but said "for our first Grand Prix season we can be pleased."[13]

After winning the silver medal at the Italian championships, Beccari/Guarise competed at the2024 European Championships inKaunas, generally noted rated among the title favourites in pre-event assessments.[15] They finished third in the short program with a new personal best score, but then unexpectedly won the free skate and took the gold medal, 3.05 points ahead of Georgian silver medalistsMetelkina/Berulava.[16]

Beccari/Guarise were given one of the two Italian berths at the2024 World Championships inMontreal. The finished eighth in the short program, ninth in the free skate, and ninth overall.[17][18]

2024–25 season

[edit]

Beccari/Guarise began the season by winning silver at the2024 Shanghai Trophy.[19] Although the pair were scheduled to compete on the2024–25 Grand Prix circuit at2024 Skate Canada International and2024 NHK Trophy, they would withdraw from both events due to Beccari sustaining a foot injury.[20]

In December, Beccari announced that she and Guarise would miss the remainder of the season due to her needing to undergo surgery for her injury.[21]
