Lucciola is an Italiantrattoria restaurant that servesItalian cuisine inNew York. It was founded in 2017 in New York City by Michele Casadei Massari along with Alberto Ghezzi.[1] It serves typical food from the Italian city ofBologna located in the area ofEmilia Romagna.[2] The name "Lucciola" meansfirefly, and was inspired byPasolini article.[3]

History

Lucciola is the second restaurant by Michele Casadei Massari, withPiccolo Cafe being the first one.[4] It pays homage toFesta di Laurea directorPupi Avati.[5] Lucciola focuses on Emilia Romagna cuisine, wines, and traditional Italian desserts such asTortellini,Albana di Romagna,Tiramisu, andPasta al pomodoro.[6]
