Loud Mine was agold mine inWhite County, Georgia north ofDahlonega. The mine was situated four miles southwest ofCleveland, Georgia.[1] Loud Mine was a mining site in the 19th centuryGeorgia Gold Rush.[2] The mine continued to produce gold into 1940.[3] The site is now owned by a private gold mining group, and permission is needed to go on the property.[citation needed]
