List of unnumbered trans-Neptunian objects

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected fromLouTNOs)

For the list of numbered TNOs, seeList of trans-Neptunian objects.
Full region – by eccentricity
TNOs:a vs.e (semi-log plot, 30–1000 AU):[1]

Resonantplutinos (39 AU) andtwotinos (48 AU)  Inner andouter classical objects (< 39 and > 49 AU)  Otherresonant objects besides plutinos and twotinos  Classical Kuiper belt objects (cubewanos)  Scattered disc objects (SDO)  Other TNOs (dots) andcentaurs (asterisk)  Sednoids, prominentETNOs

Distribution of 5,342 listed TNO objects (with a > 30.1 AU) by subclass from Johnston's Archive (hover)[1]

This is a list of unnumberedtrans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) first observed since 1993 and grouped by the year ofprincipal provisional designation. The data is sourced from theMinor Planet Center's (MPC)List of Trans Neptunian Objects,List Of Centaurs and Scattered-Disk Objects,List Of Other Unusual Objects, andDatabase Search.[2][3][4][5] These objects will eventually benumbered as secured discoveries with an officialdiscoverer determined by the MPC. Until then, additional observations are needed to sufficiently decrease an object'sorbital uncertainty. As of October 2025[update], there are4,512 unnumbered objects, defined here asminor planets with asemi-major axis larger than 30.1 AU (Neptune's average orbital distance from the Sun).

The list also contains information from "Johnston's Archive", such as an object's diameter, its dynamical class andbinary status with the satellite's diameter, as well as itsalbedo, spectral taxonomy andB–R color index.[1] Members of theextreme trans-Neptunian objects (ESDOs,EDDOs andsednoids) – with a semi-major axis greater than 150 AU andperihelion greater than 30 AU – are also identified.
