Along dog (alsolong-dog orlongdog) is any dog ofsighthound type, whetherpure-bred or not.[1][2] It is usually across-breed between two sighthounds of different breeds, one of which is usually aGreyhound.[3][1]
It is distinct from thelurcher, which is a cross between a sighthound and a working dog, usually aterrier or herding dog.[4] A longdog is generally larger than afeist, which is an American cross.[1][2][3][5][6][7]
