Lok Dal (Charan) orLok Dal (Charan Singh), apolitical party inUttar Pradesh,India. LD(C) was formed on 7 June 2003 whenRashtriya Lok Dal vice-president Rameshwar Singh split. Singh was opposed to the move of RLD to withdraw support from theMayawati state cabinet. The party is named afterCharan Singh, the founder of the originalLok Dal and father of RLD leaderAjit Singh.[1]
