Lofendazam[1] is an organic molecule which is abenzodiazepine derivative. Lofendazam is a 1,5-benzodiazepine, with thenitrogen atoms located at positions 1 and 5 of thediazepine ring; therefore, lofendazam is most closely related to other 1,5-benzodiazepines such asclobazam.[2][3]
Lofendazam as a human pharmaceutical hassedative andanxiolytic effects similar to those produced by other benzodiazepine derivatives. It is an activemetabolite of another benzodiazepine,arfendazam.[4]
