Tear-drop shaped islands caused by flood waters fromAres Vallis, as seen by Viking Orbiter. The islands were formed by the ejecta of Lod,Bok, andGold craters.

Lod is a crater in theOxia Palus quadrangle ofMars. It is named after the city ofLod,Israel in 1976.[1]

Lod is famous for showing clear evidence that it was affected by floods of water fromAres Vallis on Mars.[2]
