Lloyd Michael Sherr (born February 28, 1956), also known by his stage nameMax Raphael, is an American voice actor. He is best known for his role asFillmore inCars 2 andCars 3, taking over the role fromGeorge Carlin after his death in 2008, as well as his former role as narrator of theHistory Channel seriesModern Marvels.

Career

Sherr has been credited in many forms of media, most notably as narrator of theHistory Channel showModern Marvels,[1] for which his voice has become a trademark of the History Channel. Sherr (credited asRaphael) has also narrated other History Channel series such asCommand Decisions,Engineering Disasters, andDogfights.

He is known for voice-over work in various video games, such asCronos inGod of War II, bounty-hunterCalo Nord inStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Diego inGothic 3 andEverQuest II.[2]

One of Sherr's most notable roles was The Moper in the 1984 filmRevenge of the Nerds. Sherr played a man who was currently being held on a charge of mopery, which is exposing oneself to a blind person.

On television, he performed the roles ofVathek inW.I.T.C.H., Jibolba in theNickelodeon seriesTak and the Power of Juju,Everett inBack at the Barnyard, Father inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, and the narrator inRandom! Cartoons.[3] He has also voiced narration for videos produced byScientology regardingThetan existence, and theeight dynamics. Sherr is also the voice ofFillmore in theCars franchise, replacingGeorge Carlin following his death.[4][5]

Sherr's stage name is a combination of his children's names, Max and Raphael.

Sherr has also performed voice acting work for several Scientology productions.[6]
