Llanfrynach is a village andcommunity in the county ofPowys, Wales, and the historic county ofBrecknockshire. The population of the community as taken at the2011 census was 571.[1] It lies just to the southeast ofBrecon in theBrecon Beacons National Park. The village sits astride theNant Menasgin, a right bank tributary of theRiver Usk. TheB4558 passes just to its north and theMonmouthshire and Brecon Canal also passes around the village. TheWelsh name signifies the 'church of Brynach'.[2][3] The community includes the hamlets ofLlanhamlach andGroesffordd.
The Cefn Brynich Canal Bridge Aqueduct over the Usk is a Grade II* listed structure.[4]
The community is included in theTalybont-on-Uskelectoral ward, which chooses one county councillor forPowys County Council.[5]
