Llanfor is a village inGwynedd,Wales near the town ofBala, in thecommunity ofLlandderfel.

History

There is evidence of anIron AgeHill Fort in the immediate area andRomanCastrum.

In the 6th century an unknownMonk from Llanfor was reputedly responsible for convertingLlywarch Hen,[1] prince ofRheged, toChristianity. It was also the site of achurch built bySaint Tyneio, the 6th centuryPatron Saint of the village.

There is a legend that the Devil used to frequently visit Llanfor Church in the shape of a pig.[2]
