TheLithuanian Peasants Party (Lithuanian:Lietuvos valstiečių partija, LVP) was a political party inLithuania.
The party was established in 1990 as theLithuanian Peasants Union; it became the Lithuanian Peasants Party in 1994.[1] It won a single seat in the1992 elections and managed to retain the seat in 1996 elections.
In 1998, the second seat in Seimas was gained after independent MPRamūnas Karbauskis joined the party and became its chairman. Four seats were gaine in the2000 elections.
In 2001, the party merged with theNew Democracy Party to form theUnion of Peasants and New Democracy Parties.[2]
