This is a list ofnotable council estates.Public housing in the United Kingdom has typically consisted ofcouncil houses, often built in the form of large estates bylocal government councils.
Becontree in The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham is generally considered to be the largest council estate (in terms of population).
Some council estates, such asHeygate Estate (setting of the filmHarry Brown) in London, orHulme Crescents in Manchester, have since been demolished.
