The following is a list of some notablehotels in New York City.
Most of the hotels are represented by the Hotel Association of New York Citytrade organization. As of 2016, the organization had 270 members, representing 75,000 rooms and 50,000 employees.[1] Private hotels, such as theYale Club, are members of the group.
More than half the hotels (114) are inMidtown Manhattan with 75 on the west side (most in theTimes Square area) and 39 on the Midtown East Side.[2] The city tourist list does not includesingle room occupancy hotels.
Following is a list of the largesthotels in New York based on number of rentable rooms.[3] Included in this lists is any hotel in the NYC area with at least 600 rooms.
The total room number includes suites. Some large hotels have been carved up into mixed use buildings in which the hotel occupies a portion of the building. This list includes only the hotel portion.

In late 2025, three casino licenses for Downstate New York will be awarded. Depending on which bidders win, large newcasino hotels, often referred to asintegrated resorts could be built inNew York City.[6][7]
InManhattan there is one proposal for a casino hotels. Along theEast River, Soloviev Group has proposed a 1,200 casino hotel, known asFreedom Plaza near theUnited Nations Headquarters.
InQueens, there are two proposals for large casino hotels.Hard Rock International has proposed a 2,300 room integrated resort next toCiti Field atFlushing Meadow-Corona Park. If built,Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Metropolitan Park would become the largest hotel in New York City. InSouth Ozone Park,Genting Group has proposed expandingResorts World New York City into a 2,000 room integrated resort, which could also become the largest hotel in the city.[8]
InBrooklyn,The Coney, a 32-story casino hotel with 500 rooms inConey Island has been proposed byThor Equities,Legends Hospitality, Saratoga Casino Holdings, and theChickasaw Nation.[9][10][11]
In theBronx,Bally's Corporation is looking to build a casino hotel that features 500 rooms. The hotel would be located at the golf course they operate at nearFerry Point Park inThroggs Neck.[12]
