Hong Kong is anautonomous territory of thePeople's Republic of China on thePearl River Delta ofEast Asia.^[1] Hong Kong is one of the world's most significantfinancial centres, with the highestFinancial Development Index score and consistently ranks as theworld's most competitive and freest economic entity.^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] As world's 8th largest trading entity,^[6] its legal tender, theHong Kong dollar, is the world's13th most traded currency.^[7] Hong Kong'stertiary sector dominated economy is characterised bysimple taxation with a competitive level of corporate tax and supported by its independent judiciary system.^[8] However, while Hong Kong has one of the highestper capita incomes in the world, it suffers from severeincome inequality.^[9]
