Theambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan is the official representative of thepresident and thegovernment of the Russian Federation to thepresident and thegovernment of Uzbekistan.
The ambassador and his staff work at large in theEmbassy of Russia inTashkent.[1] The post of Russian ambassador to Uzbekistan is currently held byOleg Malginov [ru], incumbent since 5 March 2021.[2]
With thedissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan were first established on 20 March 1992.[3]
