TheSeattle Marinersfarm system consists of sixMinor League Baseball affiliates across theUnited States and in theDominican Republic. Four teams are independently owned, while two others, theArizona Complex League Mariners andDominican Summer League Mariners, are owned by the major league club.

The Mariners have been affiliated with theTriple-ATacoma Rainiers of thePacific Coast League andHigh-AEverett AquaSox of theNorthwest League since 1995, making them the longest-running affiliations in the organization among teams not owned by the Mariners. Their newest affiliate is theInland Empire 66ers of theCalifornia League, which will become the Mariners'Single-A affiliate in 2026.

Geographically, Seattle's closest affiliates are the Tacoma Rainiers, which are approximately 26 miles (42 km) away, and the Everett AquaSox, which are approximately 27 miles (43 km) away. Seattle's furthest domestic affiliate is the Arkansas Travelers, 1,781 miles (2,866 km) away.

Prior to the 1963 season,Major League Baseball (MLB) initiated a reorganization ofMinor League Baseball that resulted in a reduction from six classes to four (Triple-A,Double-A,Class A, andRookie) in response to the general decline of the minors throughout the 1950s and early-1960s when leagues and teams folded due to shrinking attendance caused by baseball fans' preference for staying at home to watch MLB games on television. The only change made within the next 27 years was Class A being subdivided for the first time to formClass A Short Season in 1966.^[2]

Minor League Baseball operated with six classes from 1990 to 2020. In 1990, the Class A level was subdivided for a second time with the creation ofClass A-Advanced. The Rookie level consisted of domestic and foreign circuits.^[2] TheVenezuelan Summer League started in 1997, with the Mariners adding an affiliate in 2002, and folded after the 2015 season.^[17][18]

The current structure of Minor League Baseball is the result of an overall contraction of the system beginning with the 2021 season. Class A was reduced to two levels:High-A andLow-A. TheEverett AquaSox, which had been aClass A Short-Season team, were promoted to High-A, and theWest Virgina Power lost their affiliated status.^[52] Low-A was reclassified as Single-A in 2022.^[53]

The Mariners sold the Single-AModesto Nuts at the end of 2024, and new ownersDiamond Baseball Holdings announced the team would move toSan Bernadino and become theInland Empire 66ers beginning in the 2026 season.^[54][55]
