List of Martian meteorites

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For list of rocks on Mars, seeList of rocks on Mars.

This is an incompletelist ofMartian meteorites i.e.meteorites that have been identified as having originated fromMars.

As of September 2020[update], 277 meteorites had been classified as Martian, less than half a percent of the 72,000 meteorites that have been classified.[1] On 17 October 2013, NASA reported, based on analysis ofargon in theMartian atmosphere by theMarsCuriosity rover, that certain meteorites found on Earth previously only thought to be from Mars, could now be confirmed as from Mars.[2] The list doesnot includemeteorites found on Mars by the variousrovers.
