Edmonton Light Rail Transit, commonly referred to as the LRT, is a 29 stationlight rail system inEdmonton,Alberta. Part of theEdmonton Transit Service (ETS), the 21-kilometreCapital Line starts atClareview in Edmonton's northeast and ends atCentury Park in Edmonton's south end.[1] A second route, theMetro Line to areas north of the downtown, opened on September 6, 2015.[2][3][4] The Metro Line includes a 3.6-kilometre (2.2 mi) extension in the LRT system from Churchill LRT Station in downtown Edmonton northwest to NAIT/Blatchford Market Station.[citation needed]
