TheWinnipeg Jets are a Canadian professionalice hockey team based inWinnipeg,Manitoba. They play in theCentral Division of theWestern Conference in theNational Hockey League (NHL).[1] The team joined the NHL in 1999 as anexpansion team as theAtlanta Thrashers, but moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2011, being renamed after the previousWinnipeg Jets team (now playing as theArizona Coyotes). The Jets play their home games at theMTS Centre. There have been threegeneral managers since the franchise's inception.
