Lila Garrett (November 21, 1925 – February 1, 2020) was an American television screenwriter and radio host who wrote for thesitcomsThe Second Hundred Years (she co-wrote episodes 10 and 13 withBernie Kahn),[2]My Favorite Martian,[3]All in the Family,[4]andBewitched.[5] She also co-wroteThe Barefoot Executive, a 1971Disney TV movie,[6] with Kahn and Stu Billett.
An anti-war activist, Garrett's political engagement includes starting Americans Against War with Iraq,[7] serving as a DNC delegate for presidential candidateMichael Dukakis,[8] presiding as president[9] over the Southern California chapter of theAmericans for Democratic Action, and being a founding member ofProgressive Democrats of America.[1] She hostedKPFK'sConnect the Dots onPacifica Radio,[1] interviewing left-leaning luminaries and often closed her show with "The arms industry has neither allies nor enemies, only customers." She was a frequent contributor to theLA Progressive, an online magazine[10]
She lived in theMotion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital for a while.[11]
