Liberty Movement (Spanish:Movimiento Libertad) was aclassical liberal political party inPeru. It was founded in 1987 by people who opposed decrees such as thenationalization of thebanking sector in 1986 under thefirst presidency of Alan García, includingMario Vargas Llosa.^[1] Instead it advocated afree market approach to solving Peru'shyperinflation, which peaked at over 7000%.
