Liam James McIntyre (born 8 February 1982) is an Australian actor, best known for playing thelead role on theStarz television seriesSpartacus: Vengeance[2] andWar of the Damned and asMark Mardon / Weather Wizard onThe Flash. He has also voicedJD Fenix in theGears of War series,Captain Boomerang in theDC Animated Movie Universe, Commander Pyre onStar Wars Resistance and Taron Malicos inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In 2016, he collaborated with Smosh Games to promote his card gameMonster Lab.[3] In 2020, he partnered withSpartacus co-starTodd Lasance to create the gaming seriesGet Good for theCouchSoupYouTube channel following a charity livestream benefitingBlack Summer.

McIntyre began his career appearing mainly in short films, before performing guest roles in Australian television seriesRush andNeighbours. He made his American television debut on theHBO miniseriesThe Pacific. After actorAndy Whitfield's diagnosis and passing fromNon-Hodgkin lymphoma, McIntyre would succeed him in the title role ofSpartacus for the remainder of the series.[4][5][6] He made his film debut alongsideKellan Lutz inThe Legend of Hercules, in the role of Sotiris.[7] On May 4, 2014, he starred on the Channel 7 thrillerThe Killing Field.[8][9] From 2015 to 2016, he completedThe Dream Children andAlbion: The Enchanted Stallion, both independent films as Luke Delaney and Erémon. In 2015, he also starred inUnveiled, an unsold pilot, and portrayed the recurring villain,Weather Wizard onThe Flash.

In 2016, McIntyre played the lead characterJD Fenix in the video game,Gears of War 4.[10] In January 2017, he appeared as Jason Andrews inApple of My Eye. He played Girth Hemsworth, a fictional Hemsworth sibling on the web seriesCon Man and was later cast inSecurity, an action-thriller film starringAntonio Banderas andBen Kingsley. He filmed a pilot forSyfy, titledThe Haunted in January 2017, but it did not receive a full series order. He starred on the Australian medical-drama,Pulse onABC TV.[11]

Personal life

McIntyre was born inAdelaide,South Australia. In 2010, he began dating actress and singer Erin Hasan, the understudy forGlinda the Good Witch in the original Melbourne and Sydney productions of the musicalWicked. They were engaged in December 2012 and married on 5 January 2014.[12][13]
