Li Xiao (bornLi Xiaotang on 28 July 1950) is a Chinese writer based inShanghai. He is the son of writerBa Jin.

Born in Shanghai, Li worked in the countryside ofAnhui during theCultural Revolution for 8 years as asent-down youth. After the Cultural Revolution, Li attendedFudan University.

Li Xiao's 1994 novelRules of a Clan (门规) was adapted into a 1995 filmShanghai Triad directed byZhang Yimou.
