Levin Winder (September 4, 1757 – July 1, 1819) inBaltimore, Maryland. During theRevolutionary War, he was appointedmajor of the4th Maryland Regiment, finally attaining the rank oflieutenant colonel at war's end. After the war, he served with theMaryland Militia at the rank ofbrigadier general.
Winder served as the14th governor of the state ofMaryland in the United States from 1812 to 1816. He also served in theMaryland House of Delegates from 1789 to 1793. Winder was admitted as an original member of TheSociety of the Cincinnati of Maryland.[1]
