Leon Fox (born 1993) is an Irishhurler andGaelic footballer. At club level he plays forFerbane/Belmont and at inter-county level with theOffaly senior hurling team.
Fox played hurling and Gaelic football during his time at secondary school at Gallen Community School inFerbane. He was at midfield when the school beat Clonakilty Community College by 2-11 to 1-08 to win theAll-Ireland Vocational SAFC title in 2011.[1] Fox later played a variety of sports at theGarda College inTemplemore, includingrugby union.[2]
After progressing through the juvenile and underage ranks with theFerbane/Belmont club, Fox eventually joined the club's adult sides as a dual player. He won anOffaly SFC medal in 2019 after Ferbane beatRhode in the final.[3]
Fox first appeared on the inter-county scene forOffaly as a Gaelic footballer with theunder-21 team in 2012.[4] He made hissenior football team debut in aNational Football League defeat ofLimerick in 2016. He transferred to thesenior hurling team in 2020.[5] Fox secured his first silverware during the 2021 season, when Offaly claimed theNational League Division 2A andChristy Ring Cup titles.[6] He won aJoe McDonagh Cup medal as a member of the extended panel after a defeat ofLaois in the2024 final.[7]
