Julia Lauren Shehadi (born May 23, 1983) is an Americansportscaster for theMLB Network andTNT Sports.
Shehadi attendedLangley High School inMcLean,Virginia, graduating in 2001. In college at theUniversity of Florida she served as the host of the onlineGatorzone. She also worked as an intern forThe Best Damn Sports Show Period and as a sports anchor forKXMC-TV inMinot,North Dakota.[1][2] She is ofLebanese descent.[3]
Shehadi worked forCBSSports.com andCBS College Sports Network.[4] In addition to serving as the host for many of the videos on CBSSports.com, Shehadi was the co-host of theSEC Tailgate show and the ALT Games withJonny Moseley on the CBS College Sports Network. In 2010 she was a candidate forPlayboy’s "Sexiest Sportscaster" contest.[5][6]
Shehadi joined theMLB Network in 2012.[7] She previously hostedThe Rundown on MLB Network alongsideMatt Yallof and currently hostsMLB Central alongsideRobert Flores andMark DeRosa.[7]
In January 2018, Shehadi started hosting a podcast calledThe Podium, a podcast betweenNBC Sports Group andVox Media, which focuses on athletes and events at the2018 Winter Olympic Games inPyeongChang,South Korea.[8] In October 2018, she worked as the on-field commentator duringTBS's coverage of the2018 American League Championship Series.[9]
On March 10, 2020, Shehadi was announced to be a sideline reporter forCBS and Turner's March Madness coverage for the first time. She was scheduled to work withAndrew Catalon and formerVillanova head coachSteve Lappas, replacingLisa Byington, who was promoted to the number 6 team, withSpero Dedes,Steve Smith, andWally Szczerbiak, replacingRos Gold-Onwude, who departed Turner Sports for ESPN. However, she, along withDwyane Wade andAdam Lefkoe, had their NCAA Tournament debuts pushed back to2021, as the2020 tournament was cancelled two days later over concerns ofCOVID-19.
Shehadi grew up a fan of theBaltimore Orioles.[10]
