Laura Mañá Alvarenga[1] (born 12 January 1968)[2] is anactress,film director andscreenwriter.[3] She was born inBarcelona.[4] As an actress, she has worked for directors such asBigas Luna orVicente Aranda. In 1997 she directedParaules, her first short film and in 2000 her first feature film,Sexo por compassion, selected at theSundance andToronto film festivals and awarded at theMalaga Film Festival (Best Film and Audience Award) and at the Festival de Miami (Best Screenplay), among others.[5]
