Latour Butte, located inShasta County, California, is an extinct lava cone[1] in theCascade Range.
Latour Butte is located northwest ofTable Mountain,Chaos Crags, andLassen Peak, southwest ofMagee Peak, southeast ofSnow Mountain, and east ofRedding, California.
Latour Butte is one of the volcanic centers that erupted beforeLassen Peak formed. It was among the first to erupt,[2] and it is a lava cone,[1] unlike most of the other old volcanic centers, which arestratovolcanoes.
