TheLao Lom (Thai:ลาวหล่ม,pronounced[lāːwlòm]), also calledTai Lom (ไทหล่ม,pronounced[tʰājlòm]) orTai Loei (ไทเลย,pronounced[tʰājlɤ̄ːj]), are anethnic group inThailand andLaos. They should not be confused with theLao Loum (lowland Lao), who make up approximately 69% of the population of Laos.

Geographic distribution

The Lao Lom have a population of approximately 27,000 spread out over theLoei,Phetchabun,Phitsanulok andNong Khai Provinces ofThailand. There are also Lao Lom in theBokeo Province ofLaos.

Culture
