Lake Tuakitoto is a smalllake inSouth Otago, on theSouth Island of New Zealand.[1] It is located to the northeast ofBalclutha, close to the small town ofKaitangata.[2] The smallest of South Otago's three main lakes, it is, like the others (Lake Waihola andLake Waipori) very shallow.[3] The lake drains into the lower reaches of theClutha River.[3]
