Laad Bazaar

Laad Bazaar orChuri Bazaar is a market located inHyderabad,India on one of the four main roads that branch out from theCharminar.

The bazaar's name,laad meanslacquer, which is used to studartificial diamonds onto bangles. This is fitting as in this 1-kilometre (0.62 mi)-long shopping strip, most of the shops sell bangles,saris, wedding related items, and imitation jewellery.

This market has been in operation since the time of theQutb Shahis, prior to the reign of theNizams. It is close to landmarks such as Charminar andMakkah Masjid.[1] Additionally, towards the southeast of the bazaar lie the palaces built by differentNizams, including theChowmahalla Palace.[2]

Choodi Bazaar is the main market for bangles,semi-precious stones,pearls, jewelry,[3] silverware,Nirmal,Kalamkari paintings,bidriware,lacquerbangles studded with stones,saris and handwoven materials of silk, cotton,[4]brocade,velvet andgold embroidered fabrics, traditionalKhara Dupattas, and perfumes.[5]
