Aerolane Líneas Aéreas Nacionales del Ecuador S.A.d/b/aLATAM Airlines Ecuador (formerlyLAN Ecuador) is a subsidiary ofLATAM Airlines Group of Chile, based inQuito,Ecuador.[4][5] It is owned by Translloyd (55%) andLATAM Airlines (45%).[5][6]
LATAM Ecuador was established in July 2002 asLAN Ecuador and started operations on 23 April 2003 with twoBoeing 767-300ERs operated by LAN Airlines.[citation needed]
In 2007, the airline became a member of theOneworld alliance as a subsidiary of LAN Airlines.[7] On 24 December 2008, LAN Ecuador received approval to begin domestic operations, which were launched by 6 April 2009, with theAirbus A318.[8]
