Leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor 1 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theLAIR1gene.[5][6] LAIR1 has also been designated asCD305 (cluster of differentiation 305).

Function

[edit]
For 19q13.4, seeChromosome 19 § Cytogenetic band.

The protein encoded by this gene is an inhibitory receptor found onperipheral mononuclear cells, includingNK cells,T cells, andB cells.[7] Inhibitory receptors regulate the immune response to prevent lysis of cells recognized as self. The gene is a member of both theimmunoglobulin superfamily and the leukocyte-associated inhibitory receptor family. The gene maps to a region of 19q13.4 called the leukocyte receptor cluster, which contains at least 29 genes encodingleukocyte-expressed receptors of the immunoglobulin superfamily.[6]

Interactions

[edit]

LAIR1 has been shown tointeract withPTPN11[5][8] andPTPN6.[5][8][9][10][11]
