Kylie Lorena Cantrall[1] (born June 25, 2005[1][2]) is an American actress, singer and social media personality.[3] She began her career with aYouTube channel under the pseudonym "Hello Kylie".[4]
In her acting career, she has played the lead role as Gabby Duran in the television seriesGabby Duran & the Unsittables (2019–2021),[2] a recurring role as Dani in the fourth season ofHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2023),[5][6] and the lead role as Red in theDescendants filmsDescendants: The Rise of Red (2024)[7][8] and its sequelDescendants: Wicked Wonderland (2026).[9] Among her voice roles, Cantrall voiced Savannah Meades in the animated filmRon's Gone Wrong (2021),[10] andWhite Tiger in a recurring role in the animated television seriesSpidey and His Amazing Friends (2024-present).[11]
As a singer, she has recorded several singles, with her debut EPB.O.Y. being released on May 7, 2025.[12]
Cantrall's father is a music producer, while her mother is a dancer and choreographer.[13] Her mother is Venezuelan.[14][15] Cantrall began learning how to dance at three years old, while also going with her father to recording sessions.[16] She was in a dance competition inLas Vegas when she was seven years old.[17] When she was eight, she watched the biopicCrazy Sexy Cool.[4] She started researching the groupTLC and became obsessed with their music.[13]
With her father's help, Cantrall started aYouTube series "Hello Kylie", where she reviewedDisney Channel shows.[4] She also started singing and performed on YouTube andmusical.ly (now known asTikTok).[17] In 2016, Cantrall was signed to a talent management agency.[18] At the end of 2016, as Hello Kylie, she released her first single "Sleep Is 4 Suckas" alongside independent music label New Muzik Order, which was co-founded by her father.[19] She also made guest appearances onBizaardvark andRaven's Home.[20]
At 13 years old, she was cast as the titular character in the television seriesGabby Duran & the Unsittables.[21] As a result, she left public school to focus on her career.[17] In 2019,Gabby Duran & the Unsittables premiered on Disney Channel;[22] she also performed the series' opening theme song, "I Do My Thing".[23] The series was later cancelled in 2021.[24] Also in 2021, Cantrall was featured in the music video of theR3hab song "Sad Boy"[25][26] and voiced Savannah Meades in the animated filmRon's Gone Wrong, her film debut.[27]
In September 2022, it was announced during theD23 Expo that Cantrall would be part of the main cast of the fourth instalment in theDescendants film series, originally in the working title ofDescendants 4, later being officially namedDescendants: The Rise of Red. Cantrall was cast in the title role of Red, daughter of theQueen of Hearts.[28][29][7] In the same month, it was announced that she would become a recurring cast member in the fourth season ofHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Series.[30][31]
In August 2023, Cantrall became the ambassador of TruSkin cosmetics brand, being the brand's first ambassador.[32][33] In 2024, she started a recurring voice role asWhite Tiger in the animated television seriesSpidey and His Amazing Friends.[11] In 2025, Cantrall released her debutextended play,B.O.Y., as well as filming for the fifthDescendants film,Descendants: Wicked Wonderland (2026).[12]
Cantrall is influenced by 90s artists such asTLC,Britney Spears,Janet Jackson, andAaliyah.[4] She has also calledBrandy,Mariah Carey andBeyoncé as well asRosalía andBecky G her favorite artists.[17][14]
