Kyle Verreynne (born 12 May 1997) is a South Africancricketer who plays forWestern Province. He made his international debut for theSouth Africa cricket team in February 2020.[1]

Domestic career

He made hisTwenty20 cricket debut forWestern Province againstNamibia on 2 September 2016 in the2016 Africa T20 Cup.[2]

In June 2018, he was named in the squad for theCape Cobras team for the 2018–19 season.[3] In October 2018, he was named inCape Town Blitz's squad for thefirst edition of theMzansi Super League T20 tournament.[4][5] In September 2019, he was named in Western Province's squad for the2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup.[6] In April 2021, he was named inWestern Province's squad, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa.[7]

During theSA20 competition played in 2023, Verreynne was part of theJoburg Super Kings squad.[8]

In August 2024, Verreynne signed a deal withNottinghamshire County Cricket Club to play threeCounty Championship matches.[9][10][11] In his third appearance for the club, he scored an unbeaten 148, including 19 fours and two sixes, againstWarwickshire atTrent Bridge.[12][13] In December 2024, Verreynne agreed a deal to rejoin Nottinghamshire for 12 of their 14 County Championship matches in the 2025 season.[14][15]

International career

In December 2015, he was named inSouth Africa's squad for the2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.[16]

In January 2020, he was named in South Africa'sOne Day International (ODI) squad for their seriesagainst England.[17] The following month, he was also named in South Africa's ODI squad for their seriesagainst Australia.[18] He made his ODI debut for South Africa, againstAustralia, on 29 February 2020.[19]

In November 2020, Verreynne was named in South Africa's squad for theirlimited overs seriesagainst England.[20][21] In December 2020, Verreynne was named in South Africa's Test squad for their seriesagainst Sri Lanka.[22]

In March 2021, Verreynne was named in South Africa'sTwenty20 International (T20I) squad for their seriesagainst Pakistan.[23] In May 2021, Verreynne was named in South Africa'sTest squad for their seriesagainst the West Indies.[24] Verreynne made his Test debut on 10 June 2021, for South Africa against theWest Indies, scoring 6 runs, atGros Islet, St Lucia.[25] In February 2022, in the second matchagainst New Zealand, Verreynne scored his first century in Test cricket, with an unbeaten 136 runs.[26]
