Kuweires Sharqi (Arabic:كويرس شرقي,romanized: East Kuweires) is a town in easternAleppo Governorate, northwestern Syria, mostly known for theKuweires Military Airbase 1 km (0.62 mi) to the northeast. Located on theDayr Hafir Plain north ofLake Jabbul, some 30 km (19 mi) east of the city ofAleppo and 15 km (9.3 mi) west ofDayr Hafir, Kuweires Sharqi is the administrative center ofNahiya Kuweires Sharqi inDayr Hafir District. In the 2004 census, it had a population of 3,129.[2]
