Kutayfāt, also known asAbu Ali Ahmad ibn al-Afdal oral-Afdal Kutayfāt, (d. 1131) wasvizier andamīr al-juyūsh (commander of the armies) toal-Hafiz, Caliph of Egypt, from 1130 to 1131. He seized power by imprisoning al-Hafiz but was murdered byFatimid forces loyal to the caliph. Kutayfāt was the son ofal-Afdal Shahanshah and grandson ofBadr al-Jamali, and so the third generation of Armenians serving as Fatimid vizier.
