TheKunta people (also known asAbakunta orAbasuba)Bantu community living on the eastern shores ofLake Victoria in SouthNyanza,Kenya, in the Ngodhe area in Gembe locality andMuhuru Bay area, and the nearby islands, such asMfangano, Ringiti, Takawiri, Elemba andRusinga. The Abakunta have been overlooked in both colonial and independent Kenya. The Kenyan government today take them to beSuba people.
