Kunjamminis Hospital is a 2023 IndianMalayalam-languagecomic fantasyhorror film directed by Sanal V. Devan in his directorial debut. Abhayakumar K. and Anil Kurian wrote the screenplay. The film features anensemble cast, includingIndrajith Sukumaran,Nyla Usha,Prakash Raj,Baburaj,Sarayu Mohan,Mallika Sukumaran,Harisree Ashokan,Shari,Binu Pappu,Biju Spoanam, andAlexander Prasanth. It was produced by Santhosh Thrivikraman under the banner of Wow Cinemas.[2]
Principal photography commenced in June 2022 inIrinjalakuda. The songs and background score were composed byRanjin Raj, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Ajay David Kachappilly and Mansoor Muthutty.
Kunjamminis Hospital was originally scheduled to release on 28 July 2023 but the release was delayed by a fortnight. It was later theatrically released on 11 August 2023 to mixed reviews.[3]
Principal photography began on 27 June 2022 with a pooja ceremony held inIrinjalakuda.[4][5]
The first-look poster was released on 7 January 2023 featuring Indrajith, Nyla Usha, Prakash Raj, Baburaj, and Sarayu Mohan.[6] The second-look poster was unveiled on 2 July 2023.[7][4]

The film's music is composed by Ranjin Raj, with lyrics written byVinayak Sasikumar, Santhosh Varma, and B. K. Harinarayanan.[8] The first song, "Ormakalee", sung by Adithya R. K. and written by Sasikumar, was released on 3 July 2023.[9]

The film was given a U certificate by theCensor Board prior to its release.[10] Initially, the film was planned to be released on 28 July 2023, but later, the release was postponed.[11] It was theatrically released on 11 August 2023.[12]
Swathi P. Ajith ofOnmanorama wrote "While it offers a passable viewing experience, the horror, comedy, and mystery elements failed to meet the anticipated standard, leaving an impression of a poorly crafted plot."[13] Anandu Suresh ofThe Indian Express wrote "Sanal V. Devan'sKunjamminis Hospital, starring Indrajith Sukumaran, Nyla Usha, and Prakash Raj in key roles, falls short in presenting any noteworthy scenes that stir up emotions, whether they are of horror or comedy."[14] Sajin Shrijith ofCinema Express gave 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Kunjamminis Hospital may appeal more to the sensibilities of kids than the serious-minded moviegoer."[15][16]
