Kugama, also known asWam (Wã̀m[2]) orGengle,[3] is anAdamawa language ofNigeria. It is spoken inMayo-Belwa andFufore Local Government Areas ofAdamawa State.[4][5] It is classified within theYendang group of the Adamawa language family.[4]
Speakers refer to their language asɲáː wàm.Kugama is an exonym that is often used by the speakers themselves when speaking in other languages, whileWã̀m is the name they use to refer to themselves.[6]
