TheKosovo Billie Jean King Cup team representsKosovo inBillie Jean King Cuptennis competition and are governed by theTennis Federation of Kosovo. They took part in the Fed Cup for the first time in2016, competing in theEurope/Africa Zone Group III.[2][3]

History

On 28 March 2015,Tennis Europe granted membership to theTennis Federation of Kosovo, which became effective in 2016.[4][5] In December 2015, the Federation announced that it would compete at the2016 Fed Cup in the Europe/Africa Zone Group III.[2]

Kosovo would then compete two years later in the2018 Fed Cup in theEurope/Africa Zone Group III facing inPool B hostTunisia as well asCyprus,Algeria andMadagascar as their opponents.[6] Kosovo were able get one win againstMadagascar through set wins fromArlinda Rushiti against Iariniaina Tsantaniony and in the Doubles with Blearta Ukëhaxhaj.Kosovo finished their campaign in 8th place after losing against Iceland in the playoffs.[7]

The best result for Kosovo came at the2019 Fed Cup in theEurope/Africa Zone Group III inPool B where they facedCyprus,North Macedonia as well asAlgeria andCongo.[8] Kosovo won three matches in this group and only lost one match against Cyprus.Donika Bashota winning all four single matches in her campaign.[9]Arlinda Rushiti winning three single matches.[10] They impressively beatNorth Macedonia andAlgeria both with 2-1 set wins. They finished second in the standings.[11] In thePlay-offs they facedLithuania losing against them after two single matches, securing in the end a fourth-place finish.
