Kosovo–Sudan relations are foreign relations betweenKosovo andSudan. Sudan officiallyrecognized Kosovo as an independent state in April 2025.
Kosovodeclared its independence fromSerbia on 17 February 2008.
At the summit of theOrganization for Islamic Cooperation on 10 March 2008, Sudan, under theOmar al-Bashir regime, opposed adoption of the document, proposed byTurkey, that would lend support to Kosovo's declaration of independence.[1] On 28 August 2008, Sudan's envoy to the UNAbdelmahmood Abdelhaleem stated that his government remains opposed to the independence of Kosovo.[2]
On 12 April 2025, Sudan officially recognized the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state with the decision of theTransitional Sovereignty Council being conveyed by Sudanese foreign minister Ali Youssif to Kosovo's president Vjosa Osmani at the 2025Antalya Diplomacy Forum.[3][4][5]
