Kosmos 2458 (Russian:Космос 2458 meaningCosmos 2458) is one of a set of threeRussian militarysatellites launched in 2009 as part of theGLONASS satellite navigation system. It was launched withKosmos 2456 andKosmos 2457.

This satellite is a GLONASS-M satellite, also known as Uragan-M, and is numbered Uragan-M No. 734.[1][4]

Kosmos 2456/7/8 were launched fromSite 81/24 atBaikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. AProton-M carrier rocket with aBlok DM upper stage was used to perform the launch which took place at 10:38 UTC on 14 December 2009. The launch successfully placed the satellites intoMedium Earth orbit. It subsequently received itsKosmos designation, and theinternational designator 2009-070C. TheUnited States Space Command assigned it theSatellite Catalog Numbers 36113.[1][4]
